[London, 14.11.22] SEFE Marketing & Trading Limited announced the latest positive steps taken by the German Federal Government to ensure a stable and prosperous future for SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE GmbH) and its subsidiaries, including SEFE Marketing & Trading Ltd, SEFE LNG Ltd, SEFE Energy Ltd and SEFE Energy SAS.
Since July 2022, the SEFE Group has completed its re-naming and re-branding exercise and has unveiled its new corporate logos, representing a new vision for a modern, greener energy company committed to the long term security of energy supply for Europe. SEFE Marketing & Trading Limited has also welcomed on board a new CEO, Frederic Barnaud, who brings a wealth of experience to the business and who will support the Managing Director of SEFE GmbH, Dr Egbert Laege, in setting out the next chapter for our group of companies.
We would also like to draw specific attention to the press statement released by German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) on Monday 14th Nov 2022 in which it has been announced that with immediate effect, the Federal Government of Germany (represented by BMWK) has taken over as 100% shareholder of SEFE GmbH through various corporate actions based on s. 17a of the German Energy Security Act. The respective administrative order, which forms the legal basis of the actions, has been published in the German Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger) and the required filing of the corporate actions and updated shareholding (via SEEHG Securing Energy for Europe Holding GmbH) took place on Monday 14th November 2022 with the commercial register (Handelsregister). In a further step, additional financing measures to strengthen the balance sheet are currently being discussed, and it is expected that these will be implemented by mid-December.
We are therefore delighted to inform you that, via this latest process, the ownership of SEFE GmbH and all of its subsidiaries, including SEFE Marketing & Trading Ltd, SEFE LNG Ltd, SEFE Energy Ltd and SEFE Energy SAS, has now transitioned to the German Federal Government, via the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. We hope that this gives all of our business partners renewed comfort that SEFE GmbH, SEFE Marketing & Trading Ltd, SEFE LNG Ltd and all other SEFE subsidiaries are trusted, reliable and reputable counterparties, and we very much look forward to reinvigorating our productive commercial relationship.
