Working closely with the London Structured Gas and Power Trading team you will leverage SEFE’s existing hedging and derivatives capabilities to offer financial hedging services and related products to Asian counterparties. You will build new counterparty relationships, with a focus on counterparties with an active LNG portfolio, in order to capture new commercial opportunities and generate Gross Margin.
Taking responsibility for the development of an Asian client base for hedging and derivatives products, you will generate new commercial business, by leveraging the product offering (both standard and complex products) of the London trading team. Working with the Gas, Power and Derivatives desks you will:
- Put together quotes for the products and services requested by our clients
- Create a book of flow trading positions where risk can be aggregated and managed
- Seek opportunities to conclude structured trades with clients which are designed to meet their specific portfolio requirements
- Working with credit to find solutions to enable trading with all interested counterparties
- Provision of credit support via PCGs / BGs / LCs, etc
- Work in close partnership with other key stakeholders across the business such as Legal, Credit, Finance and Risk
Strong market knowledge of the Asian derivatives markets with an understanding of key commercial drivers in commodity markets, will be essential to success. Previous commercial experience, in particular covering global gas & LNG . You will also have:
- Ability to quickly forge and grow lasting and profitable customer relationships.
- Skilled negotiator with the ability to adapt style to different conditions and customers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (ability to clearly convey ideas to internal/external stakeholders)
- Track record of successful PnL delivery
- Proven performance working within a complex and fast-moving environment
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience
- Language skills highly beneficial notably Chinese and/or Japanese and/or Korean language skills are a plus
