An exciting opportunity to join our Sales Portfolio Management function in Manchester

With an aggressive growth strategy and ambitious targets to grow our power and certificates market, SEFE Energy is looking for a Senior Structured Quant to join the Power and Certificates Pricing team based in Manchester.

This role is ideally suited to somebody within proven energy sector experience, adept at building robust pricing models to predict future price changes and mitigate key risk areas. Your ability to manipulate large and complex data sets will help drive our future success in this market, ultimately helping drive front office sales across SEFE Group. A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Structured Quant to contribute to SEFE’s energy transition goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Senior Structured Quant you will;

  • Be responsible for power and renewable certificate pricing and products for front office sales across the SEFE group, collaborating with various stakeholders to maximise the profitability and competitiveness of pricing strategies
  • Take responsibility for driving forward the green transition across CSO primarily in power and certificates, including new products and entering new markets
  • Build and improve robust pricing models to predict future price changes and key risk areas
  • Direct and guide the upstream and downstream pricing data inputs and outputs, ensuring alignment across the end-to-end business model
  • Identify relevant market and commercial regulatory risks to steer the sales portfolio
  • Identify, drive forward and deliver portfolio analytics to reduce risks and maximise P&L
  • Represent the division on key topics, demonstrating broad business and industry knowledge and taking important, well thought through decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

With proven experience in the energy industry, you will have a well-rounded understanding of products, pricing and risk management, combined with quantitative experience in the power and certificates market.

You will also demonstrate

  • Entrepreneurial thinking, and be comfortable finding new ways to improve performance and results
  • Concern for accuracy combined with a detail-oriented approach
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships across diverse teams and locations
  • The confidence to lead on projects with other stakeholders
  • The ability to mentor and guide colleagues
  • Excellent IT skills: MS Office, SQL/Python
  • Fluency in business English (written and spoken)
