We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Base Metal Trader to join our team at SEFE Marketing & Trading. This pivotal role focuses on expanding our business in the US and Europe, with a particular emphasis on copper trading.
As a key player in our global operations, you will drive business development initiatives and contribute to our strategic growth in the base metals market.
What you will do?
- Execution of exchange derivatives
- Design and deliver the metals trading strategy (Physical and paper based) for its specific commodities
- Originate business including opening accounts/KYC with metal producers, customers and traders
- Deploy derivatives and create physical flow while onboarding of brokers and other key partners
- Investigate and integrate additional metals into the portfolio to achieve synergy and diversification whilst pursuing long term off-take agreements
What you’ll bring to the role?
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both physical and paper metals trading, with a strong focus on copper. A robust network within the copper industry is essential, as well as a deep understanding of how physical and derivative markets interact.
You should have a proven track record in commodity trading, particularly in metals such as aluminium, copper, steel, and precious metals, and possess experience in both physical and financial trading of metals. Additionally, experience working in a diverse environment and a self-starting attitude are highly desirable.
