Sitting within the LNG trading team based in London, the Commercial Operations are responsible for the successful management of cargo operations, as well as LNG Regas optimisation and nominations for our long-term and spot deals. You will provide end to end commercial operations and logistical support to the SEFE Trading teams and be responsible on a day-to-day basis for the timely implementation and execution of commercial transactions to ensure that all obligations arising from the LNG contracts are met and carried out professionally.

Sitting within the LNG trading team based in London, the Commercial Operations are responsible for the successful management of cargo operations, as well as LNG Regas optimisation and nominations for our long-term and spot deals. You will provide end to end commercial operations and logistical support to the SEFE Trading teams and be responsible on a day-to-day basis for the timely implementation and execution of commercial transactions to ensure that all obligations arising from the LNG contracts are met and carried out professionally.

What you will do?

Working closely traders and our gas desk, you will maximise the value-add for profitable operations and minimize the profit leakage from the LNG contracts. You will also be involved in supporting the development of projects and new contracts together with our origination team. In addition you will;

  • Ensure that all commercial and operational obligations/nominations arising from the contracts are carried out, and that any necessary requirements are complied with.
  • Deal with cargo/freight counterparties and terminals regarding all pre and post deal activities.
  • Appoint inspectors and expeditors and be able to investigate and resolve matters relating to LNG quantity and quality.
  • Manage Gas send out and LNG delivery schedules and operational programmes.
  • Ensure that all operational information is entered timely and accurately into in-house trading systems.
  • Execute timely cargo invoicing, reconciliations and clearances of accruals for both external and internal deals.
  • Liaise with counterparts and support the team to ensure smooth operations, avoid delays and minimise demurrage costs.

What you’ll bring to the role?

Your previous LNG experience managing risk in a trading environment is key. Managing a wide range of longterm contracts and spot deals you will have previous experience of: 

  • Working with stakeholders including trading, optimization, freight, tax, risk, credit, legal and settlements, to maximize value add
  • Provide high standard of operational excellence to identify contract constraints, whilst ensuring commercial flexibility 
  • Developing strong industry relationships, closing agreements to optimize and monetize regas positions and capacity
  • Ability to problem solve in time critical environment
  • Proficient in English, Ideally if you have an additional European language is seen as advantageous (French or German preferred)
  • Very strong attention to detail and delivery focused.
  • Degree educated in shipping/trading or finance/science or equivalent experience

This role may require you to work out of hours and on call.
