We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Senior Accounting Controller. The Controller will support the Accounting Function in delivering the SAP ERP programme, primarily for the main UK Energy Trading entity of the Group

The Senior Accounting Controller will work closely in supporting the Accounting Managers, liaising with IT and the external implementation partner on business requirement analysis, to-be process design, data design, testing, change management, cutover, and support activities

What you will do?

  • Work with Accounting Managers to assess, shape and document;“to-be” business processes (using flow-chart diagrams) data requirements & analysis whilst working collaboratively with the Accounting Managers to deliver SAP ERP programme.
  • Gap analysis reporting requirements Consult with Accounting Managers to understand processes, develop the business case, document requirements, develop functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with Accounting Managers to derive a common data model and reporting structures to enable group wide reporting whilst working alongside with the SAP Capability team (based in London and Berlin) and external Implementation partner.
  • Work closely with SAP Capability Team & Accounting Managers to ensure solutions meet expectations and have only a positive impact at implementation

What you’ll bring to the role?

An understanding of chart accounts typical in a commodity trading organisation or financial trading institution is essential. You should have experience with high transaction volumes and SAP integration with upstream deal capture and lifecycle systems, such as ETRM systems.

Good functional knowledge of SAP is required, along with a strong understanding of data objects, master data, data modelling, and reporting. Change management knowledge and strong facilitation and influencing skills, including the ability to lead workshops, are also crucial.

The candidate should be able to understand business issues and articulate the required IT solutions to the SAP Capability Team or Implementation Partner.
