The SAP FICO Analyst (London) is required support the London SAP Finance and Controlling team and to work with the local Finance & Treasury, Tax, and Global Trading Operations teams to elicit business requirements (functional, technical, and non-functional). The SAP FICO Analyst will advise the business how, within the context of business processes, requirements can best be met within the SAP environment.

 

What You Will Do

Following the definition of business requirements and identification of a functional solution, the SAP FICO Analyst will work with the London lead and Capability Manager in Berlin for Finance and Controlling to ensure new solutions function within the Global SAP model. The focus of this role is work on small change and project initiatives to support the annual backlog for Finance.

The SAP FICO Analyst will be expected to work on projects and BAU and contribute to the SAP Finance roadmap.

• Work autonomously and within a team to deliver technology enabled business change
• Work closely with the SAP Capability team.
• Work with Finance & Treasury, Retail Finance, Tax, Global Trading Operations and other business stakeholders, architecture, development teams and BA colleagues from other SAP teams to assess, shape and deliver strategic and business change.
• Consult with key business stakeholders to understand processes, develop the business case, document requirements, develop specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure all business change is adequately planned and prioritised. With this plan supported by high level and detailed requirements (stories) and agreed acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with testing resources (unit and QA testing) and the business (UAT) to ensure solutions meet expectations and have only a positive impact at implementation.

 

What You Will Bring

A solid functional knowledge of several SAP ECC modules. In the Financial Accounting (FI) module, you’ll be proficient in General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Asset Accounting (AA). These areas enable effective financial operations and management within the SAP system. You’ll have expertise in the Controlling (CO) module, specifically in Cost Center Accounting (CCA) and assessments, which allows for detailed tracking and analysis of internal costs, and also experience in SAP Banking, including electronic banking (e-banking), which supports automated financial transactions.

Experience in SAP Travel Management is required, enabling efficient handling of travel planning, expenses, and related processes. This comprehensive knowledge helps optimise various financial and administrative functions in SAP.

You’ll have strong business process knowledge of the following processes, preferably in a commodity trading or financial services environment:
• P2P
• FI Invoicing to Cash
• Month end closing
• Record to report
• Trade settlements
• IFRS 9 – Accounting for Financial Instruments
• Good knowledge of Statutory, Management and Group reporting
• SAP Functional solution design experience
• Excellent Stakeholder management skills
• SAP change management knowledge / understanding
• Strong knowledge of period end closing processes
