As a Pricing Analyst you will contribute to the analysis and pricing requirements of the Gas, Power & Derivatives Trading desks. Work alongside other members of the team to deliver timely and accurate pricing to key stakeholders, such as Traders and Originators.
What you will do
Working with Structured Traders and Originators you will contribute to the pricing of complex deals. You will work cross commodity including Gas, Power ,LNG, Energy Transition and Environmental products. You will:
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to support ongoing pricing/trading activity.
• Provide support within the team and across the wider business to identify issues or areas for improvement and suggest resolutions
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand products to be priced as well as other cross-functional teams to support the deal life cycle of the product
• Collaborate effectively with Traders and Structured Traders to strengthen understanding of commodity markets dynamics and apply this knowledge to improve the focus and the quality of the analysis.
What You’ll Bring
Your enthusiasm for commercially driven problem solving with strong commercial acumen, combined with an understanding of financial risk and option value is key for success. Your ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, understandable manner to various audiences is essential. You will also have:
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a trading environment and handle multiple projects / understanding priorities
• Aptitude to pick up new tasks and independently deep dive into concepts
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel required and some experience in programming advantageous
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential
• Experience in a commodity or financial trading environment would be an advantage
• Prior experience in risk/financial modelling would be an advantage
• Degree level (or equivalent experience) in a highly quantitative subject.
