IN SHORT
As an Environmental Products Originator you will identify, develop, execute and risk manage carbon offset and compliance credit origination and trading opportunities in the region, to help build a well-balanced, well hedged global portfolio.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will contribute to development and implementation of origination strategy by liaising with the wider team, frequently meeting with carbon market actors, attending seminars and developing counterparty and key stakeholder relations. You will also provide clear and effective commercial input to internal operational readiness process for onboarding complex contracts, and ongoing commercial support throughout deal lifecycle. You will also:
• Developing business capability and strategic partnerships in regional compliance markets
• Building a forward stream of Article 6 compliant credits
• Assisting with ongoing development and calibration of a comparative assessment framework for carbon project investment/streaming prospects
• Contributing to term sheet and long form contract drafting processes, and helping to create structures that provide SEFE with optionality, risk mitigation, value creation and protection.
• Co-owning the risk and the PnL of the carbon project portfolio
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Your Knowledge of carbon market policy, in particular relating to Article 6 readiness of different jurisdictions and development of jurisdictional carbon compliance schemes and utilising it to originate attractive investment opportunities is key to success. You will also have extensive experience working in front office roles focused on the voluntary carbon market (VCM), CORSIA, Article 6 and other carbon compliance markets. In addition your experience of:
• Carbon credit value drivers
• Interactions between compliance markets and the VCM
• Carbon trading & hedging strategies
• Carbon project financial modelling and carbon project deal structuring
